Finished at last!

I have decided that I will give baby wool a break for a bit! I much prefer to work with chunkier yarn!

Anyway, here is the finished product! I am quite happy with it although I'm not completely happy with the sewing up. I guess with more practice I will get better!

I am thinking of a knitted flower to stitch on one side. What do you think? I also like it plain as Miss E can wear it with anything!

I Love Mail!

Well, nothing completed to show but I have some mail to show! I placed an order with the Fat Quarter Shop in the US for some fabric for a quilt and also a nappy bag.

Quilt Fabrics

Nappy Bag Fabrics. (Pattern can be found here)

I am also making this shrug for Miss E and so far have completed the back and the left front side. Not much to show in the way of pictures though. Will post a completed pic soon (hopefully!)

I have SO much on my to do list at the moment. I still have fabric waiting for me to make a top for myself and also a dress (or 2) for Miss E. I have a few balls of BWM wool waiting for me and I want to order more!! (cotton this time!). "I will not spend money, I will not spend money"

Sorry, I have been really slack with my blog this week! It is Friday already and this is my first post! Oh well, I will have to do better next week.

I have progressed with the baby hexagon quilt and also started knitting a front tie shrug for Miss E. Stay tuned for some pics!

Something for Baby

I have decided to make a baby quilt for the new baby. Not knowing the sex I decided on creams and naturals. I am hoping to back it with something soft and cuddly like cotton fleece!

I spent a few hours last night cutting out and this morning sewed a few together and am happ with how I think it is going to look! It is all hand sewn so will probably take a while but will be a lovely keepsake.

Bloomin' Bloomers!

Yes, I made another pair! I altered the pattern before cutting and they are a much better fit. BUT I sewed them together wrong and had to unpick them all! I thought I remembered fromt he other day how they went together but obviously I didn't! Anyway I also made a dress that the bloomers were made to go with. It is from the same pattern as the brown and pink dress but is a different style.

Another Little Treasure

Yesterday I had my 20 weeks scan, and got to see my gorgeous little bub. We decided not to find out the sex (although it was tempting while in there!) but I think he/she is pretty cute!

Frills and Fiddling!

I have been meaning to finish this dress off for ages! It was mostly done but just had a bit of hand sewing to do on the inside and I also wanted to make the little pants to go underneath. If anyone ever uses this pattern (McCalls 2213) be warned, the panties are HUGE! I made Miss E a size large (same as the dress size) and I swear they would have fit me! So with lots of fiddling and taking in I finally got them to fit. The crotch hangs a bit low but it all looks ok so I think I will just leave it be!

Next project is to make a dress for Miss E to wear to her Opa's wedding.

My Little Artist

When Miss E was about 7 months old I decided to buy her some crayons. I ignored the information on the pack which said ‘for over 2’ thinking ‘my daughter is so intelligent that she will know what to do with crayons’………I was wrong! She decided that they were great for eating! I put them away thinking ‘well she must be a mathematical genius then!’ (yes I am one of those mums who thinks that my daughter is more intelligent than others! Don’t we all?)

Last week I decided to get them out again. I desperately wanted to finish some sewing and Miss E wanted my full attention (yes, bad mum!) so out came the crayons. She managed to make some marks on the paper but not many so I assumed she just wasn’t ready. I packed them up discovering that a few were missing and were not to be found anywhere! Later that day I discovered that my little artist did know how to use them but she would much rather draw on the bookcase, tv, and my books!
So here she is…my little artist!

Oh and Miss E seems to know exactly where those missing crayons are! They come out every now and then and she adds a bit more to her art work on the bookcase!

As promised, my little pincushion! I am quite pleased with it. I kind of made it up as I went along and am really pleased with the result. It’s a shame you only really need one pincushion as I would love to make more!

Gorgeous in Red

Finally some sewing to show! I started this last night…and finished it too! It was actually really quick and easy to sew. I had never done shirring before as it scared me! I followed the tutorial at House on Hill Road.

I told you Miss E looks gorgeous in red!

My rows aren’t completely straight but you can’t really tell once it is all finished. I think I will make a dress in this style next!

Today I am making a little pin cushion with my scraps left over from the dress. I may have a pic tomorrow.

Here's one I prepared earlier

I haven't been overly creative the past few days. I did have a visit to Spotlight and wanted to spend all the grocery money! I didn't though. I just bought some pretty fabrics to make a little summer top for Miss E.

Can you tell I love red! Miss E looks gorgeous in it too!

Oh and beacuse I haven't much else to show...here's one I prepared earlier...a couple of soakers I knitted using the Hybrid Rib pattern

And this one using my own dye job...
